This project was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the Portugal 2020 Internationalization Project, in the scope of “Compete 2020 – Programa Operacional Competitividade e Internacionalização” and contracted by Agência para o Investimento e Comércio Externo de Portugal (AICEP), through the contract for financial incentives No. 024915. This project started as CASHYT S.A. but this company was merged with WIT Software in September 2020. With this project, WIT´s purpose is to promote its products in the global market, through the application of models and qualification processes for internationalization, enabling WIT to increase its base and export capacity.

The Contextual Communications in UC Platforms project is co-funded by “Fundos Europeus Estruturais e de Investimento (FEEI)”, within the Portugal 2020, in the scope of “Compete2020 – Programa Operacional Competitividade e Internacionalização” and contracted by Instituto de Apoio às Pequenas e Médias Empresas e à Inovação (IAPMEI) through the contract for financial incentives No. 10510.

The objective of the project is to design and implement a new suite of Enterprise Collaboration applications, which will be focused on offering rich contextual communication, to improve the efficiency of standard voice, video and messaging channels.

With this project WIT reinforced the bet on the scope of internationalization reaching new markets. Identified markets covered Asia, Europe, Middle East and South America, namely India, Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Austria, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates and Argentina. Being present in international events, we wanted to promote WIT’s products and services, find new opportunities and increase our international strategy.

This project aims to develop the second generation of WIT Communications Suite product, featuring a rich set of features that allow a better convergence of communication services between mobile phones, fixed phones and internet services.

The Connected TV project was a co-funded project by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) and contracted by Agência da Inovação (AdI), through the contract for financial incentives No.2012/24920. This project aimed to develop a multi-screen TV platform, focused on three areas: messaging platform; VOD and Live TV; and mobile communications on the TV.

Aiding the elder with new technologies

Smartphone for Seniors was a co-funded project by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF) and contracted by Agência da Inovação (AdI) through the Contract for financial incentives No. 2011/21541. This project aimed to research and develop a set of services and applications for Windows Phone 7 smartphones, with specific focus on the senior population and its needs. The project consortium was formed by: Microsoft Portugal, WIT Software, University of Aveiro, Fraunhofer Portugal Research, Devscope, University of Lisbon (FCUL) and Optimus.

ContentNOW project was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF), in the scope of “Mais Centro – Programa Operacional Regional do Centro”, and contracted by Instituto de Apoio às Pequenas e Médias Empresas e à Inovação (IAPMEI), through the contract for financial incentives No.2011/18542. ContentNOW aimed to develop an innovative solution for content discovery and was recommended for being used by Cable/IPTV Operators.

This project was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF), in the scope of “Mais Centro – Programa Operacional Regional do Centro”, and contracted by Agência da Inovação (AdI), through the contract for financial incentives No. 2010/011499. The AdNOW project aimed to develop a solution that detects specific items and features on a TV stream in order to enable product placement. The solution was developed by WIT Software, as head of consortium, and DEEC from the University of Coimbra as a research partner.

QREN Internationalization Project

The QREN Internationalization Project was co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF), in the scope of “Mais Centro – Programa Operacional Regional do Centro”, and contracted by Agência para o Investimento e Comércio Externo de Portugal (AICEP), through the contract for financial incentives No. 2011/17365. With this project, WIT aimed to increase its competitiveness through the internationalization in new external markets with high potential. Identified markets cover Europe, Africa and South America, namely in Italy, Turkey, Czech Republic, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Angola and Brazil. This initiative was leveraged by the participation in international events as a starting point to raise new business opportunities, to promote WIT’s products and services and to strengthen the company’s salesforce.

AIRMA

Interactive Mobile Advertising

AIRMA was a project co-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), within the National Strategic Reference Framework (NSRF), in the scope of “Mais Centro – Programa Operacional Regional do Centro”, and contracted by Agência da Inovação (AdI), through the contract for financial incentives No. 2008/3391. WIT Software was the consortium leader and worked in cooperation with DEEC from the University of Coimbra, in the development of an innovative visual search technology that would be potentially leveraged in interactive mobile publicity campaigns and visual search engines.

In this project, WIT Software developed prototypes and innovative concepts around the use of PC softphones in fixed-mobile convergence use cases and enterprise scenarios.
